adrian`s blog: micro-teaching

adrian`s blog: micro-teaching: This semester we had a subject called Micro teaching and it was very useful for us, because we learned how to create different kind and effe...

I belive you did it very well in your micro teaching activity, I liked because you were very confident in front of your "class". however you seems to be a little bit disorganized while you were presenting. eventough I like it very much!!

Micro teaching activities

during this semeste we had a new subject called Micro teaching, and in my personal opinion I belived that it was very useful for us as future teachers to know new strategies for teaching to our future students, that`s why we had to recreate a micro teaching activity in which we had to put in practice what we learned during the semester trough this activity created by ourselves and we had the chance to do it as we wanted. Some activities were very entertaining and creative and others give good ideas to use them too, but as a general idea I think that all my classmates put in practice their own strategies and teaching methods and were very good.

Reflection 5: Summary of the semester

As a final reflection I can say that this course was very helpful for us as future teachers because we could learn about our rol as the teachers should be in a very near future with our students or in the classroom, It also helped us to undestand and remember  how was the learner´s rol. I realized that I need to feel confident about my knowledge, and also we have the duty of motivate our future students while they are learning a second language, and the most important is to know the importance of each participant learning, so in that way teachers and students can work together in progress of the acquisition of a second language. Each rol is important; teacher´s rol is important because it is us who provide the learning and the tecniques to learn it, and the learner´s rol because are them who are going to learn why study a second language and the importance in their future.

reflection 4: class observation

as our last activity required by our teacher of the subject, we have to go and observe a class and make the students a test in which we could see how was the way that those students learnt according to the multiple intelligence by H.Gardner, which are divided in 8 kind of intelligences, Linguistic intelligence, spatial intelligence, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, logical-mathematic intelligence, musical intelligence and naturalist intelligence. I went to Casteliano School, and a made the test to a group of 26 students in a 4° medio. this group didn´t show any particular problem at the moment of learning a second language, altough, the teacher wasn´t so creative with his activities, his rol was very passive, because his students in some way were like that too. However, the Learner´s rol was passive, they had an open mind to learn new things and they also understood the importance of learning a second language for their future.
about the results of the test it is possible to see that reflective is the most predominant learnig style in this group, and the least is sensorial. on the other hand, the most predominant learning style in females was also reflective and the least was intuituvevand in males the most predominant was visual and the least was global.
So about this results, it is important that te teacher in charge should now begin with activities that be helpful for all the different learning styles to have a success in their learning.

Reflection 3: Approaches

I believe that the use of different approaches for teachin are very useful for teachers and the learners, because sometimes using different theories you can be sure that your learners learning will be a succes.
There are several approaches to help learner´s learn which are The silent way, the direct method, the audiolingual method. suggestopidia, community language learning, communicative method, total physical response, the natural approach, and the grammar translation. However, Im going to refer about Total physical response, not only together with my classmate we presented this theory, but also I think is the most effective while we start teaching a second language to pre-eschool kids. thia method it shows how trough movements we can teach children vocabulary in a foreing language, also using songs, and many other dynamic activities in which kidscan use their body to learn. I belive that is effective, because little kids are open to learn in every different way, but sometimes classes can be so boring thata most of them just don´t pay attention to what they are learning, on the other hand, it is possible to teach teenagers and adults too, but they are not open minded as children´s are. but why not  try with them?

Reflection 2. Teaching Philosophy

Trying to answer a few question I must say that to be an a second language teacher as future teachers, we must provide to our learnears the confidence that is need to start using a second language.Altough, most of the teachers commit a lot of mistakes believing that speaking spanish while in the class it is also effective, but it isn`t, because the best way to learn a second language is put ourselves in practices SPEAKING, otherwise we won`t be able to learn.
I also believe that speaking is the best way to learn even if we commit mistakes while we are learning, because mistakes help us to learn and to identify what we are doing well and what is wrong.
on the other hand, the most important factor in learning another language is motivate the students to learn it, show them why is so importante to learn a second language, in this case English, for their future; also the use of english in every class, make them feel secure about their knowledge and the use of different techniques and methods to teach every children or teenager in the class. However, a second laguage must be taught usind different tecniques no catch students attention, and not making a boring class, because motivation is like the clue for learning. In the case of the teacher role, is important that he be always close to their students learning, because in that way he can realize if they are learning or not, he also must motivate them, ans as a say beffore, use different methods for teaching.
and finally, the teacher must use contents that are close to the students reality, and how useful is going to for them adquire a second language.

Simce 2011

we must start with the fact of What is the SIMCE?
Measurement System for Quality Education (SIMCE) is the national evaluation system of the Ministry of Education of Chile that applies all students in 4 º EGB (General Basic Education), 8 º EGB and 2nd Half

But if we want to have good results in this test is important to give good bases to the students. Also is importante provide them different ways of learning, because some of them learn listening to a song, or reading a text, or using activities that can help them to learn easily the acquisition of a second language.
